Install Geringhoff's oil cooler for the gear box. JD's don't have near the cooling capacity. They do run hot. Use synthetic oil in your gear boxes too.

The absolute best way to do the header drive is to replace it with the single speed setup. I have 5 years experience running Gehringhoff. You really do not need the variable speed feeder with the Geringhoff but you do need reliability in that drive. For help with this, I would recommend a post to "dibber" on Gleaner site as he has put many of these together. Best of luck. They are great corn heads.
