That 8 bushel loss wasn't out the back of the combine it was in the front. The sickle wasn't making a good cut. I have also heard of guys picking corn that the wind has blown down. The monitor was showing them 15-20 bushel difference if they would only cut one way, and they thought the were doing a good job of cutting either direction. Kurt

Sounds like more problems than can be fixed by high tech equipment if 8 bushel losses in beans or 15 bushel differnces in corn cant be detected with the naked eye.

what's wrong with getting out of your machine once ina while and looking things overIJ most of us could use the exercize anyway!!i can look out the side window of my cab and see how close i'm cutting to the ground! i can see in the cornhead if i'm losing ears! faster is NOT always better!! if you think you have to go faster to cover more ground, and the ground_crop suffers for it, your trying to do to much. cut back some and enjoy possibly the same profits!
