  1. Killing Groundhogs With Bubble Gum

I've heard of blowing up the dens and using road flares to smoke them in the den, but bubble gum? Maybe if they are busy blowing a bubble they won't see you drawing a bead on them with your rifle.
  2. Super B Grain Trailer Capacity

Each state has laws that meet the national standards. However, some states allow exceptions. Michigan for example has bridge laws that allow up to 11 axles on multiple trailers that would not be allowed in NY. Ohio allows triples, again not in NY. Depending on the state, your mileage may vary.
  3. Motor Oil In Hydraulic System

It shouldn't really hurt anything. If it was a small percentage of the total amount in the system.
  4. How To Install Pto On Truck

Much depends on the truck. Some have a place on the transmission for a pto. The standard pickup truck doesn't usually have that possibility.
  5. John Deere High Speed Dozer

It won't last long on rock. Pulling a pan and finish grading would seem to be it's forte.
  6. Torpedo Heater Won T Light

Try covering the intake end about half way with a piece of cloth. If it is real cold when you try to start the heater the fuel is harder to ignite. The cloth slows down the air stream so the igniter has a chance to work. Once the heater gets warm you can remove the cloth. Don't leave it...
  7. Why buy a 2WD truck

Having survived over 50 Syracuse winters driving all sorts of trucks and cars (Civics to Semis) I have found that if you can't go, stopping becomes less of a problem. Traction control, stability control etc. give people a false sense of security, They go faster than they should because it...
  8. Why buy a 2WD truck

The last I knew 4WD gave 60% better traction than 2WD. A set of tire chains gave 400% better traction. This was in snow and ice. I figure from experience it works about the same in mud. Chains are much less expensive than purchase and up-keep of 4WD.
  9. Upgrade or update...my pickup truck debate

I don't know where you are located but if you aren't in the rust belt keep the truck. Do you really need 4wd? I've plowed snow with 2wd i/2 ton and a 6.5' plow. Will it be $30K better than what you have? It's a truck, run it till the wheels fall off.
  10. Will A Generator Run A Welder

Figure out the wattage your welder requires and use a generator with that rating or higher.
  11. How Does A Fifth Wheel Work On A Semi

There should be both the air and a hand release for the fifth wheel. Usually the parking (Spring) brakes must be on for the air release to work. That keep you from accidentally dropping your trailer when moving.
  12. How To Bypass Idle Shutdown

For a pickup, if it has a trailer package, some will disable the shutoff feature if there is a trailer hooked up. Just get a "Test Plug" from Horrible Fright and leave it plugged in.
  13. 2015 F250 Gas Vs Diesel

Be glad it is only 15 qts. I have three Diesels, oil changes are 5 gallons, 7 gallons and 10 gallons. Luckily the car only takes 5 qts.
  14. 2015 F250 Gas Vs Diesel

The break-even mileage used to be 20,000. Now with diesel fuel being on a price par with gas it is probably closer to 35,000. It boils down to, "How heavey and how far."
  15. How To Downshift A Semi

You have a CDL A and you didn't learn how to shift? Get someplace where you can practice safely (Abandoned large parking lot or open field) and practice shifting up and down through the gears. The highway is no place to be trying to figure it out. As far as a turn goes down shift to the gear...
