I hate that too. They seem impossible to get rid of. We try to remove them as quickly as we see them and when it gets real bad, we figure it's time to add some nitrogen to the soil.
I have a microwave in the break room at work that keeps getting wet inside. At first I thought the employees were overfilling their dishes and not cleaning it up, but they swear that's not the case. What else could it be?
That is good to hear because I don't think our local governments are ready for an explosion of families that suddenly need help with housing. I feel for the landlords though.
@Nora, they didn't mention it. My husband thinks they might not have heard me, but I'm sure they did. My mother-in-law keeps a spotless home, so it bothered me, but I've felt less upset about it as the days have gone on. I probably overreacted. Thanks for asking and for sharing your story...
Mine is a doozy. The in-laws were due to visit us today on short notice, so my son, husband, and I started rushing about to tidy up. I was handing out the marching orders which might have included, "remember guys, we're just going for the illusion of clean and tidy, so don't get hung up in one...
Well, I think the reviews were probably bought, but that's not uncommon when a seller first starts out on Amazon. You haven't overpaid in my opinion and I'm sure most of it will sprout and grow. That's a nice mix of seeds!
Have you designed your layout already? Keep your chicories separate...
I automate a few things in my greenhouse. For example, the windows open when the room reaches a certain temperature and the fans start blowing if I need to decrease the humidity levels. Try to automate routine tasks if you can. I'd start there.
My only issue with that (well, aside from killing Thumper) is that they're not dual-purpose animals. Maybe it would work if you chose a popular breed and could sell some to pay for the feed. That might offset some other expenses too. Good on your neighbor for creating a viable business with it!
Milk goats are an excellent choice if you're talking about producing milk for your own use. You can do a lot with goat's milk! Plus, many people with sensitivities to dairy can drink goat's milk without a hassle because it's easier to digest. So if you're taking the dairy route, don't overlook...
I think gardening as an activity is great for kids, and I guess that does often involve mixing compost and topsoil. I usually encourage them to wear gloves though.
I can only see a bug in the last two images. Even then I'm not sure if that's a bug or a piece of fluff in the second to last one. My advice is to send the images to your local county extension office if you're really worried about it. They'll know what's common in your area. Burning will...
I'll have to try this one out. I don't have a child that young, but if it's decent I'll happily pass the information along to the other Alexa users in my circle.
I tried that one, but he wasn't having it. I also tried a ThunderShirt, but he wasn't impressed. I guess my goat will never be Instagram famous for his snazzy attire. I ordered some sunscreen. I should've known they'd make some for animals since hairless pets are a thing. In the meantime...
My youngest goat developed an allergy that caused him to lose some hair on his back and neck. Unfortunately, this area looks pretty sunburned now. We have ample shade, but I wonder if I should start applying sunscreen to the bare areas until his hair grows back. What do you think? Is it...
I did when I first started growing plants. There are so many choices out there that it's easy to get overwhelmed. I mostly grow flowers and ornamental plants commercially. I use the fertilizer that suits the plant's growing conditions and will produce what I desire. If I'm after blooms, then...
My flowers are coming along nicely. That's the main crop that I sell, so I'm happy about that. I also sell fresh vegetables when I have them, and my asparagus is doing good, but everything else seems to be growing slowly. Of course, it doesn't help that I check several times a day. Maybe I'm...
Ask them what they want to grow to eat, help them plant it, and help them take care of it. It's usually best to start with one or two plants, so they don't get overwhelmed. Is it too late to try that? That's how I got my son involved. If you want help with your garden, then their children...
These weren't all in the same dish, but I've had candied lemons, asparagus spears, and breaded lettuce cooked on a grill. Maybe it's just me, but I prefer simple dishes when I'm grilling out. Just give me a steak, hamburger, or hot dog please.
I can easily add some night blooming flowers around here. That's a good suggestion, @FaithBean. Thanks!
@RichZ, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of us. I was skeptical about encouraging bats to move in, until I learned that real estate developers use them to cut down on the mosquito...
