    Planted flowers

I hope they grow beautifully and that you make a tidy profit. Cut flowers and potted plants are a good farming niche. If you stick with the easy stuff then It's fairly low-maintenance farming.

    Sunshine GardenHouse

In my defense, I bought the greenhouse for my mother in December when it was on sale. I figured I'd wait until it warmed up to do outside projects since we needed to level the ground first which was frozen at that time. I feel like I acted reasonably, which is why I wanted to say something...

    What's for supper?

That sounds tasty, @Urban Homestead. I haven't had that dish in a long time. Earlier today we had spaghetti and salad. I'm impatiently waiting for my veggies to start coming in, so we can have fresh produce at the drop of a hat.

    Sunshine GardenHouse

Several months ago I purchased a Sunshine GardenHouse kit from Home Depot. I've been using it for a while now and I'm deeply disappointed in the greenhouse. I'm past the return date or I'd absolutely send it back. It's poorly made and constructed with cheap materials. It was impossible to...

    Growing corn

Stink bugs have been a problem for me lately and so far, I've warded them off with diatomaceous earth. I just sprinkle it around the base of the plant and on the leaves. Unfortunately, it needs to be reapplied after it rains, but I've found that the bugs move on within a few days so it's not...

    Foot traffic and sales?

Having consistent store hours again, probably helped us. I worry though that the last stimulus check created the rise in demand as folks had more spending power. If so, it's likely to fade if the local economy hasn't recovered. I guess we shall see in time.

International Harvester my modified combine harvesters

Nice job with the modifications! I gave your video a thumbs up on YouTube. You might have more success if you add some context to your video such as the name of the competition and what specific modifications you made. Now that I think about it, you might have meant "completion" (finished)...

    Anyone get the vaccine?

It's weird how vaccines affect people so differently. Moderna is the most readily available here. I expected to have trouble with it, but I felt no side effects aside from a sore arm. It didn't bother my husband either. However, the same shot made my sister run a fever for three days...

Time to end COVID benefits package?

I gave my employees a fairly generous COVID benefits package that allowed them to get tested for the viruses and to quarantine as necessary while still getting paid. They did not have to use vacation or sick days for it either. However, since vaccinations are free and readily available in my...

    Keyhole Garden Beds

I didn't know it was a thing until now. I looked it up and the beds strongly resemble hugelkultur beds. One key difference is the open center that's used for the watering and feeding of the plants. Interesting.

    Got Any Firearms?

No, I don't even like to be around them. Guns make me uncomfortable for some reason. It's illegal here to shoot a gun within city limits anyway, so I can't see much use for them. I don't care if other people own them, but I don't like open carry laws. It feels hostile and intimidating to be...

    Growth By The Tree Stump

I've always either dug it up or I've used a stump grinder. Getting rid of trees is hard work, and it's expensive if you have to hire a pro.

    Mosquito repelling plants

@RichZ, I used to recommend many of those same plants because I genuinely thought they worked. I guess our mosquito population just wasn't that severe before. Have you planted anything during a bad season that actually seemed to do the trick. I really don't want to spray any chemicals. I'm...

    Anyone tried pet hair repellant?

Has anyone here tired a pet hair repellant like Bounce Pet Hair and Lint Guard dryer sheets or any other brand? I groom my dogs and cats and I vacuum regularly, but I still tend to have pet fur on my clothing. I have to keep a lint roller in my car to make myself presentable in public.

    What is your corn?

The most common corn on the cob here comes from a variety of sweet corn. I'm not sure about the specific variety though. I think it differs from establishment to establishment.

    Mosquito repelling plants

Some plants are said to have mosquito repelling properties. How effective are they really? If you've had success with one of those plants, please let me know which one did the trick. Our mosquito population has exploded this year, or at least that's how it feels to me.

    Where Are The Scarecrows?

They've never really been a thing in my area, except for decoration during the holidays. I don't they work. When it comes to deterring birds and pests, there are better options.

    Where to source beekeeping equipment?

I'm an organic grower and I believe all my neighbors are too, if the state of their yard is anything to go by. I think I'm going to try my hand at beekeeping. What's a reliable source for bees and the necessary gear?

    Corned beef

I don't think anything special for the day, beyond making green roses and carnations to sell in my shop. I don't believe I've ever had that dish. Is it difficult to make?

    Frugal root cellar

I've heard of folks doing that with a deep freezer, so your idea isn't too wacky. You might want to make sure that a child can't get in it though and lock themselves inside.
