    Goat ear mites

@Petal to the Metal, I have those moments too when I should've known the answer, but totally blanked at the time. It happens to us all. I hope your goat gets better soon!

    How often do you replace?

They make so many things with plastic now that it's hard to say whether our new stuff will last as long as our old stuff did. Well it's 2020 now, so 20 years ago it was 2000. I'd say that computer chips were already widely in use by then.

    Debt traps

I always think farmers can benefit from diversification. Then, if one crop fails, another might be enough to keep you going. It also helps to keep a steady paycheck coming in, so at least in the beginning, someone should have a solid job. What do you think is the best way to avoid a debt trap...

    Your signature dish?

Do you have a signature dish or drink that you like to make? It doesn't have to be fancy. I just mean a dish or drink that you're well-known for among your circle of friends. I don't have a signature dish, but my signature drink is hot chocolate. I make it from scratch. Sometimes I had...

If you're into bonsai trees, then check out Dandy Farmer. You can find some rare, old bonsai trees at that site for sale. They ship anywhere in the US and are reliable. It will cost you, but that's the nature of collecting rare plants.

Forced blooms for pots and bouquets

Which plants do you manipulate into blooming this time of year? Forsythia is one my favorites. The flowers are a brilliant yellow, and it's one of the easiest plants to manipulate into blooming.

    Best cut of steak

I'm not into steak, so I'm no help there. It's cool that you're able to grill out this time of year. A slight chill sends me running inside. No way could I man the grill.

    Specialty crops

Is lavender still considered to be a specialty crop? I know it was at one point because a customer remarked on it. I grow lavender for the bouquets that I make and sell. It's been good to me.

    Laundry detergent

Aprons are a lifesaver when it comes to protecting my clothing. When it comes to detergent, I like the Tide with Downy liquid added in. My laundry comes out smelling great after I use that stuff. OxiClean is my go-to for getting out stains.

    Wreaths

I buy my greenery wholesale and then doll them up into lovely wreaths. It's a ton of fun to do. I like seeing how creative I can be. @Desi, add a customized option if you haven't already. I make a tidy profit off of those. @More Green, a bull statue? I wonder if the resident worked in...

    Battle of the Poinsettias

@Petal to the Metal, the traditional reds are still the most sought after here. @Desi, I'm not a fan of poinsettias either, but they're a holiday staple that sells well. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother. I don't get their popularity. I hope you have lots of success with your mums!

    Uptick in charitable requests

What's the industry standard when it comes to fulfilling charitable requests? I usually donate some wreaths and other Christmas plants to the local schools each year, which they use for decoration and for their school play. However, this year I'm swimming in requests from churches and...

    Not your favorite

I don't enjoy cleaning up the plant debris at the end of harvest season. It makes me a little sad to see everything dying and to know that the cold is settling in.

    Water melon problem

Are they lying on the ground? If it's wet and warm where you are, they'll start to rot on the ground. Stick something under them a bit of straw or some cardboard. Good luck!

    What's overrated?

I bought a fancy mulcher years ago and it did a good job, but it wasn't much better than using the mower. I didn't have a lot of thick sticks to mulch or it would've been more valuable to me. I wound up reselling it at a loss.

How to keep red fox away from chickens?

If you're using chicken wire for your fencing, switch to something stronger like hardware cloth. When I've dealt with predators in the past, I set up a few motion activated devices that would make noise and wiggle about when something got near.

    Remedies when skunked?

Last year, my poor Maine Coon got skunked while he was in his protected catio. He must've startled the skunk because it sprayed him good. We had no idea what to do other than to shave him and give him a bath. The shaving really helped, but In the end, he basically had to wear the smell off...

Turkey eggs, peafowl eggs, and goose eggs

I can't say that I have. I've always been told that goose eggs taste too strong to be appetizing, so I've never been adventurous enough to try them. I've had quail eggs and guinea eggs before. They didn't taste that different from a chicken egg. Quail eggs are pretty tiny though.

    Getting old and adapting

Use knee pads when getting down on the ground to save your knees. I'm not sure how realistic this is for you guys to implement, but raised garden beds can keep you from having to bend over.

    Do you work elsewhere too?

No, the plants are our livelihood. That involves selling from the greenhouse, running a landscaping business, doing some weddings, and maintaining the plants at several businesses in town, so it's a lot to keep up with.
