Best Way To Cut Steel Belted Tires

With a metal blade. Or multi-use blade actually. Rubber and metal is a strange mix if you want to cut one or the other while they are together.

    Allergic Reaction To Laundry Soap

Never with soap. I have used many different brands over the years and have never had a problem. I'm the guy who goes into a store and gets whatever is on the end-cap. I have no worries about it.

    Renting Buildings

I most certainly would. I would write up some sort of rental contract though stipulating if the rent is behind by 3 months or so, the locks would be changed. I know times are tough for everyone so the cost would be more than fair, but you don't want to get used either.

    The quality of water

The first thing you want to do is find out about the relationship between your water and fertilizers. For starters, recommended usage amounts should be on the bag you buy (If that's how you get it). There are also helpful resources at your local extension office. COntamination is not only bad...

    Craigs List Ads

Does anyone here use Craigs List to buy/sell/barter/give away? With all the other free options available today, I view CL as a relic from the past that is better suited as a last resort.

    Getting old and adapting

There are tilling attachments you can buy to pull behind a small tractor or riding mower. The same for sprayers actually. And I for one wouldn't mind retiring and staying put where I am.

How Did You Decide on Farming?

My mother's family has operations out in the country and we would visit them once a month when we were growing up. I got the bug way back then.

What To Do With An Old Barn

If it were me, I would use it as a shop for my vehicles. I like it better when I can work on them under shelter and a barn is bigger than a typical garage. More "moving about" room.

    Mud

You can always use fill dirt to fill up the "potholes". Most people just give away any excess they have after completing a land improvement project. It will take time and energy, but it's a lot better than having standing water on your property.

    Planting And Moon Phases

Certain Native Americans paid attention to the phases of the moon when planting certain crops. I know The Farmers Almanac touches on this, but does anyone else here pay attention to this sort of thing?

    Most profitable plants to grow

A desire to do it. I would start with container growing a variety that is in demand. It isn't that labor intensive and sounds fairly easy to learn.

Do You Have A Plan B?

I keep up with real estate trends when I have the time. If the bottom fell out of what I'm doing now, I would probably get a real estate licence and go that route.

How To Fatten Up A Runt Puppy

Milk straight of the goat. Cream and all. Quick fat right there. And what ^ said. Try different flavors until something sticks. When he gets hungry enough........he'll eat.

    Searching For Sales Online

Do you find that it's easier to find machinery for sale online or off? Do you think sellers are doing a good enough job in getting their product seen online, or do you find the whole process problematic?

    Black Pepper In The Radiator

I would solder it before I put anything like that in a radiator. I don't know where you are, but some Harbour Freight stores sell what you need for that.

    How Do Smudge Pots Work

If there is wind you might need more than normal. The whole idea is for the smoke to just hover over everything. Un-insulated greenhouses are where they work the best.

A Question For All The Fathers In Here

Too late. Expect the knocks on the door. LOL It wasn't until I was 13, and I was helping a neighbor lady out. It was rough going at first, but by the end of the day I was doing alright.

A Question For All The Fathers In Here

Those of you who have boys, how old was your son when you first let him drive a tractor by himself? Even if he was just pulling a trailer to throw hay?

    Homeschooling And Helping Out

Homeschooling is a big thing and, back in the day, boys would typically finish out the 6th grade and then help full time on the farm, ranch or whatever. How many people who own and work acerage and have kids, do you think, homeschool their kids (the right way of course) for this purpose as well?

How Much Do Farm Hands Make

It's usually 11 bucks an hour. This is the average. True wages are going to vary by location, cost of living, the generosity of the farm owner doing the hiring, etc.... This is largely unskilled labor so most people, on both sides of the fence if you will, know what they're getting into.
