    Raising farm animals together

A majority of the species of farm animals can coexist, yet other combinations cannot work. Ruminants and poultry, pigs and poultry, mixed ruminants, and mixed poultry are common combinations. Ruminants include goats, sheep, and cattle.

    Ensuring farm safety

Tractor and machine-related injuries are common but avoidable too. As you say, anybody who uses machinery needs to be safety conscious. It is needless to take shortcuts, ignore warnings, or fail to follow safety rules.

If someone brought you food or goodies. . .

It would depend on my relationship with the other person and whether they've dropped any goodies before. Again, it is polite to return, just as a way to reciprocate the act of kindness.

    Hay question

I agree that the type of machinery used is what makes the difference, with the nutrient content being the same. I think what caused the shift to large round bales are the labor requirements. It is also less time-consuming to make the round bales.

    Irrigated agriculture

On average, irrigated agriculture is at least twice as productive per unit of land as rainfed agriculture. It represents about 20 percent of the total cultivated land and contributes to 40 percent of total food production. How do you foresee its future with the competition for water resources...

When did you decide to turn your farm into a business?

I grew up on a farm, so for me, it was an activity I initially undertook to meet our subsistence needs. At the back of my mind, I had a vision of turning it into a business to meet the local demand. I drew out a plan and implemented it over a while.

    Farm Animals for Business Meetings?

Exactly! I have been on a few remote calls before, and none of them was exciting. What I am curious to know is whether or not these animals understand the basic etiquette when on these calls? Their mere appearance improves the mood and environment therein.

    Unconvential farming ideas

Starting an agricultural farm for profit requires a good investment. It is crucial to consider the local demand and distribution channels for supplying produce to far-flung areas. Has anyone of you considered vermicompost organic fertilizer production? It requires low investment and can be...

    Drip irrigation

All I know about drip irrigation is that it applies to any crop, and fits all topographies. There is the potential of saving water and nutrients by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots. On a large-scale farm, impact sprinkling could be a better option!

    Farm Animals for Business Meetings?

I just looked this up, and yes, Sweet Farm is letting people pay (less than $100) to get farm animals to tune into their video calls. Can you imagine that there have been more than 300 requests for this?

Do you always go to the service shop?

We all know that changing your tractor's oil is one way of avoiding major mechanical repairs afterward. Have you ever performed an oil change? It is not such a hard thing to do, and it starts with identifying your machine's specifications, then determining the type of oil to use etcetera.

    Do like going for....

What a beautiful scene. It is such a great way to spend an afternoon and enjoy the sunshine. How long does the tractor ride last? It isn't something I have considered before, but now I know better.

    The quality of water

I assume that you are talking about an underground water source? You may want to use native plants in your landscape since they don't need much water or fertilizer. Also, find a way to dispose of toxic substances (such as motor oil or unused chemicals) appropriately.

    Honey Bees forage

I recently found out that bees can cover 2,000 acres of terrain to collect necessities like water, nectar, and pollen. It would help to visit an old field or natural spot abuzz with bees, to know the native plants that thrive in your location.

    Dairy farmers negatively impacted

There is a projection of a 3-10% drop in dairy prices over the next 12 years, and so the usual rush could be as a result of speculation. The "panic buying" causes concern about consumers being afraid of some items running out of stock.

    Skin irritation

Have you ever gotten itchy rashes from touching some plants? Some contain irritating chemical compounds, while others can irritate when exposed to the sun (for plants in the carrot family like Queen Anne's Lace). Hops usually cause a mild reaction to my skin.

    DYI Hand Sanitizer

Hey @Paul, I had no idea that it was that easy! In addition to the ingredients, you already mentioned, adding an essential oil like lavender or tea tree oil will make the sanitizer effective. As a precaution, always stick to a 2:1 proportion of alcohol to aloe vera.

    Shared equipment pools

Equipment costs are a large draw of capital, and so splitting the cost of purchasing them is much cheaper than going solo. Would/Do you belong to one? I have heard about numerous equipment sharing organizations that exist across the globe.
