    Pumpkins!

@Henderson - Yeah, that is what the family wants to do. I don't! We have too much going on already. It has been a wonderful year for pumpkins! They are growing like crazy. We even have some white ones (those aren't very big).

    Setting up stand for EBT

Interesting! We actually sell meat too at our shop. Can you use SNAP benefits for something like that? I heard they were pretty picky on what you could use benefits on.

Have phones ended walkie-talkies on farm?

Call me old school, we still use walkie-talkie's. We also use cell phones but we do use those too. Honestly I think it's easier - push button and talk. I bet you can find some online.

    Hot air balloons

That's awesome that you house these guys. I've always wondered where they stay. I imagine they travel all around (balloonist). I've never been up in one but I have "chased" them. I've helped take them down, fold them up and drink the celebratory champagne after.

    Anyone canning?

We have been canning and freezing. We do it at night when it's cooler out. @Katie We put our tomatoes in boiling hot water. The skins peel right off.

    Setting up stand for EBT

With so many people getting help these days we thought we would look into accepting EBT as a payment. Does anyone know anything about getting started with this? Any help is appreciated.

    Pumpkins!

We have loads and loads of pumpkins! We picked a bunch but left a bunch. My children want to enter a pumpkin contest! We took a load to a local farm store to sell. Wish us luck!

    Milwaukee tools

That stinks for sure! Why are they charging you any money if it's under warranty? I would steer clear from Milwaukee tools if I was having that many issues.

    Leaves changing

It's too early for fall but I have noticed that some of the leaves are changing color already! Eek! It's been a hot and humid summer but I'm not ready for fall yet.

    Mission BBQ

I ate at one of these once. It was delicious! I love restaurants that give you multiple BBQ sauce choices. Do they still do that? I'm not sure what goes anymore with covid restrictions.

    Intercropping

We didn't dig into this yet. We didn't do enough research and with covid we didn't want to waste any money or field space. We are doing research now and I hope to do this next season.

    Floods!!

We had a flood when I was a small child. We lost part of our barn and several animals! I'm thankful to read that your neighbor was able to move his.

    Watering flowers

My wife waters the flowers daily too (especially when it's crazy hot out). The hanging baskets tend to die off if she doesn't. She says it is because it is a different soil.

    Do you name them?

I love it @RichZ and @Ritar. I agree that you should name your animals! I name some tractors, I have too many to name them all. I'm not very creative either. I've got Farmy1, Farmy2...

    NY Governor

Has anyone been watching the news? What a shame... Governor Cuomo is in a big pot of "disgusting hurt" right now. I really hope that criminal charges are sought against him. What a sad time for NYers.

Going to a game - in person!

It's a real busy time for us too, but most times are. We can't wait!! It will be an overnight trip and we got the neighbors doing the chores at home. I am hoping to get to a live football game too.

    Cows getting out

I couldn't agree more @The Back 40. It sure is alarming turning a corner and seeing a cow in the road! I almost hit one once. I've never had any get out either.

    Back to school?

Our younger children are back to school full time. The older children (high school age) are still doing a hybrid schedule. I think the district decided to start the younger ages first.

    Tractor pull

Well I was adding money over the last few years so I don't really have a total. It was a bit but not a crazy amount. The pull I'm going to is antique tractors. I've got some great advice, like wiggle here and there for a few extra inches!

    Right To Repair

Makes sense now, I live in NY too. We have always had the right to fix our own machinery. When I read this I was like, what the heck!
