Combines 04 2388 AIR FIlTER PlUGGING

I put the 04 updates on my 03 2388s last spring before we left for Oklahoma. Have about 500 hrs. on them since then and have not cleaned the radiator or filter a single time on one, and had to clean the filter just the other day for the first time on the other one. How did you tear the rotor screen on yoursIJ If you're having to clean the filter every day you may have the tube that takes the dust out through the exhaust plugged up. K.A.

Not sure if 2388 is like my 1688, but I can have problems with aspirator plugging up. It happens either in the rubber tube from aspirator to exhaust pipe or in the cage above the air filter. If you don't get it unplugged you will be changing air filters daily.

We just got a 1998 2388 and we are blowing aircleaner out 2 times a day our 1688 just keeps on going.I thought it was supposed to be better then the old ones.

we are having the same problem on a brand new 2388 with 42 hrs on it. checked the complete air chamber and cant see any place of leaks, but filter plugs every 4 hrs. the tube from the exhaust is not plugged but does not seem to have much suction. it is frustrating. they are going to try a finer mesh screen i guess.

I have a theory that the brush that rotates with the rotary screen lets material in. I have two 2388's one constantly needs cleaning vs. the other one. Put my young son inside the screen compartment one day when it was dark and shown a flashlight all around it and never found a hole so I assumed that the brush around the screen is probably the problem. Problem is I priced one and is around $150.

That's funny. We seldom ever have to clean the air filter or blow out radiators on our 1998 model 2388. A friend of ours traded a 98 model in on a 2003 and had a lot of trouble with the new one.

friends new one does same thing buy an AFX8010 cleaned mine for first time at 200 hrs. I could not beleive it either.

How long does the brushes usually last our 1688 has original with 2500hrs blow out rad 3-4 times in 250 hrs The 2388 should go longer with bigger air cleaner
