Combines 06 production machines

They are a Tier 3, we went from a 2005 R65 to a 2006 R65 and unless you want to use a whole lot more fuel and what i can say as next to no difference in power, the Cummins was better. I wish we never would have traded now, the few things i do like are the upgraded yield monitor and the CDF rotor, still not liking it in grain but in corn and beans it does good, let me know if i can answer anything else.

What is your problem in grainIJ We use ours in wheat as well and it works a charm. Dave

Main problem was using a lot more fuel in small grain, wheat and rye, then what our Cummins did, also with the CDF rotor versus our last modified rotor the CDF takes more power, fuel, and i don't feel we gained anything over the Cummins or the standard rotor but in corn and beans we were happy with it.

Your power problems in small grain are not related to the CDF rotor. It is the Sisu that is not up to par. Does yours have the improved torque curveIJ It will help with power but you are stuck with the fuel useage. These SISU engines are not up to par with what the 05 cummins were.

I have the steep pitch helicals (concave) which eliminates the 2nd pass (less power) and the wedge. I use the rock door with the hump which helped with the feeding. I tried a sisu in corn but that was not a true check for power. The reverse bars over the concave area take alot of power (remove)!

Afternoon all and Merry Christmas, thankyou all for the comments and help in the past and i am sure in the future too. We have had the power curve done on ours this fall, it does make some difference in the power department but hate to whine and complain but still just uses that much more fuel all the time while in the field, not so sure about these Sisu engines in the combines as of yet, they may shine in the tractors but not this application. I was told to leave the CDF and not touch anything by the company and dealer but am open to suggestions, anyone got any ideas as to what i should be doing with the rotor and the cage, thanks again for all help.

I heard about the fuel usage. That is why I got a 05 with the new yield monitor and CDF. Do you think I should put the hump kit inIJIJ IG

I like the hump kit and would make sure you have the easy close door too, makes it much easier. If you would like to talk more email me anytime, if i can help with anything else.
