The main thing that they do on a 10 series update is they took the wood block walker crank bearings out and put in a double sealed aluminum 2 piece bearing. They also changed the sieve ajustment to a sundial for ease of setting the machine. There are a few more that don't come to might right now. As far a year models '89's and '90's where very good machines, they turned about 20 rpm faster than the rest which seem to give them a little more power in tough conditions. In these two years of machine the feeder house was alittle shorter and some say it didn't feed as well but we never had any problems. They also only had a two speed throttle as aposed to a three on '91+ models. The last differance in these two and the rest is that the parking break, on the earlier two was a switch on the arm rest and then they moved it to the floor with a pedal. Things that I usually look at is, at the bottom of the grain tank next to the unloading auger and see if it has been welded on, and while you are standing there look up through the drain hole of the tank and look at the vert. auger. Also look at then straw walker cranks front and back. Then look at the clean grain boot and the elevator, knock on it and see if they sound or feel thin. Finally, just look for normal wear items that add up real fast, chains, belts, bearings, etc. Hope this helps and good luck.

the 8.1 litre motor, more cleaning fan speed up to 1600rpm, 13 bar concave for better threasing of wet corn, different air filters that just push in. the 99 10 series did away with the limit switch on top of the unloading horizontal auger the way you can tell is the year is reflectors on outer warning lights

dont forget the dual display tach with the digital concave indicator. Was the flighting on the augerer heavier, or was that on the 50 series.
