Tighten the springs until you can pick up the floating sickle easily, you can get the springs too tight and what will happen is that when you push the button to put the platform down it will bounce as the floating sickle bounces up and down. Are you cutting the field at an angleIJ good luck

Also keep the space between the header floor sheets and the skids clean(on top of the skids)especially on the ends of the header. This will help keep the knife light and the auto header control working better.Good luck

Have your head tipped back towards the combine ajust the feeder so it is all the way back and raise the back of combine up by repositioning the block on the pivot axel we did this and it helped from digging in guards are pointed up a bit also helps on not picking up any little rock and then cut your feilds at an angle. Good luck.

Yes, in some conditions it can make a world of difference. It doesn't give the ridges a chance to build up ahead of the skids. Also being 30" rows it keeps material coming across the full width of the head and keeps it swept off. Good luck.

besure the head is 10 degrees forward in the field combine sinks in changes angle cutting at an angle is the best in those conditions uses all the cutter bar more effectively beans don't line up against the same one. cut in alot of sticky messes 1020 is the best I've found

You Don't know the half of it!!!!!!!!!! I am having to get off of the combine and rake the header off two to three times a thru not a round but a thru because of fireant mounds. I am losing about 5 bushel per acre because I am lifting up over the ones I can see in time. I have two or three in a 30ft. diameter some as large as a half bushel bucket. It is so bad that I know I won't grow soybeans again if it is going to be like this. I spend more time out of the combine cleaning off the header than gathering. I have gave up on trying to get anything done and am just doing what I can to get through. I still lack about 320 acres. Oh yeah I'm getting docked 5 to 7% FM for dirt in the beans. It's so dusty loading the truck I have to stop every once in a while to see how full it is so I won't run it over.
