Cain, I broke my 25' the same place. I welded it, and it broke again, and I welded it again, then during the winter I bought a new one. Maybe you're a better welder than I am, but my welds usually don't break. K.A.

Had this problem on our 17.5' 1020. What I did is rewelded it making sure that it is still high enough or your sections will ride high on the guard, than I made a piece to bolt over the top using the two big holes and two holes from the first guard. Be careful you have to notch out for the sickle head to pivot. The new bar for this head is $295.00.

Just to clarify I am not talking about the sickle flex bar. I am talking about the flex bar the sickle guards bolt on to. The main supporting bar. Thanks for your help!

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. I welded it then discovered the heads of two bolts had worn off that bolt the angle support to the end skid shoe. Put in new bolts and it has not broke since. Hope this helps....Mac

Mine broke there and I welded it with 7018 rod and so far it is still holding. Been 3 years.

I went to my CaseIH dealer and they told me that welding will not hold. They have sold 12 of them so far this year. The reason mine broke was the bearings in the A frame were wore out and wore in the bearing housing as well. They also said the wobble box could have bad bearings but mine was alright. After 300$ for the bar and 190$ for the bearing housing and 50$ for misc. I am back in business again. Thanks for everyones help!

listen to the man... pivot bushings where the 'a-frame' mounts are 99 times out of a 100 the culprit. replace these, check your bolts, and buy you a new bar... their have been some updates on the conjoined skid depending on what year model head you have. they didn't weld the original one in there, did theyIJ
