Combines 1020 head broke IJ

You mean you broke the backbar IJ if so pull the knife ..pull the divider off ..pull the black divider off.. undo all the bolts that hold the one piece skid panel on left side under the knife head may have to remove the bracket around knife drive that holds black snout will have to remove front two bolts at least of knife drive (wobble box) i've done this on a header cart easier on combine but i hate welding on combine if you do dsiconnect batteries grind a good Chanfer V on the back bar top and bottom clamp the piece and the raining backbar to second straight piece of stock ... now spit twice and weld that puppy top and bottom hopefully you have a grinder that can fit in tight courters to grind everything flush again check the angle iron on that section of skid plate for cracks the two bolts that hold the angle iron end of skid section are same as the lock up bolts for wheat very important to keep these tight time alotted 2 hours lOl good luck

The pivot bushings at the rear of the mount frame of the wobble box where the grease fittings are get worn and the head will shake and break the bar where yours did. Make sure you check those bushings for play, pry bar on the nut head inside the rear holder and if there is movement replace them or the bar will break at your weld again.
