I think in 1995 they changed to the enclosed wobble box. I would sure recommend that, and the poly skid plates are nice also. K.A.

enclosed vs open knife drive reels. there are 4 different reels that you could have on a 1020 - the best ones are the wraparound type that clamp around the tube (current production) older reels were made by love (steel teardrop front mounted tine (probably the least desireable),hart carter rear mounted tine (steel teardrop reel bats) plastic skids can be put on any head, although early heads weren't drilled.
