Combines 1020 knife drive chatter

There is two ways to lessen the chatter in hard to cut crops but our work man was having trouble cutting green flax and he sped the knife drive up and turned the sections or knife upside down to make the knife a under serrated knife now boy he can motor and there is no chatter.

Check the bushings at the back of the head where the assembly that holds the wobble box mounts.

Did he turn all the sections over or just everyother oneIJ And did you turn it up to the fastest speed posible or just faster than it wasIJ What size pulley did you put onIJ My header gives me a fit in wild barley and wild garlic that greens up in the fall in my beans. It just won't cut it and I have to go to manual and raise the header above it causing me to miss a few beans.

6 mphIJIJIJ dang!! i don't even disk that fast!!..hahaha!!..i did get a chatter once and awhile too, i just slow up thru the heavier spots, then speed back up in normal cutting. i did find once that the pin that holds the bar to the drive had some wear in it, i replaced that and all was fine again.
