Combines 1020 on 1440

I think you are going to have a bit of a problem as the combine has manually operated hydraulic valves as the later are electrically operated solenoids. Unless maybe you could put an electric valve in to override the other. But you also have all the other elctric bits to manage it. sounds a bit hard. Just work it manually

I did this with a 78 1440 and CNH had cable kit you could install on the 1020 to make it work with older 1440 head height control. You might check to see if it's still available. I also had to get a head with only cranks instead of fore_aft since my 1440 did not have a extra hydraulic to run it. hope this helps, Pat

You might try Waynes in El Paso, Il, Abliene machine or Worthington Parts. If you have a dealership with some parts folks who have been around for a while, they may be able to locate the pieces for you (it's a cable, bell crank and mounting bracket). hope this helps, Pat PS: Clyde or Stan at Birkeys in Gibson City, Il are usually pretty good on this stuff (they got me the kit 5 years ago) - 800-221-1880

I am in Ontario near Woodstock. I don't need it untill early - September for coloured beans. If it is the right thing e-mail me.

If you can convert the head to the cable control that would be my choice. We ran a cable 1440 side by side with a 1460 with the electric header control and the cable control was much more repsonsive.
