Tootall we had an inch and a half knife and could never get it to work right. I spent most of every morning adjusting it and still didn't get a good cut. We finally replaced it with a three inch cut and that improved it a lot but it still wasn;t 100% so we swithed to a Crarry GoldCut and it is just great, can cut soys at 7 to 8 miles an hour if you want and still have a very clean cut. It seems like a lot of money to replace it but it is well worth it. There is very little adjustment needed and every thing stays tight.
