We have one on our 22.5' 820 and like it alot better than the teardrop style reels. We used a 1020 on a few acres last fall and didn't realize just how nice the pipe reel was until we went back to the teardrop reel for a while.
The factory see-thru pipe reels have pretty fragile teeth. When the going gets tough, count on a lot of broken teeth, but in normal conditions they work fine. I would rather have the tear drop style with plastic teeth, personally. Those teeth wear out instead of breaking. I also like the wooden bats with metal teeth just fine. Call me old fashoned, I guess.
Throw those wooden reel boards away and go to the salvage yard and find an old Massey reel with the aluminum bats. Cut them to length spread the clamps on your old reel, drill and bolt them on. I have done two I H reels this way, I bought enough to do a 22.5 foot for $240.00. Toughest reel I have ever run, works well in down rice. You don't have to worry about rotten boards breaking and sending them through the machine. I have never had problem one since.
