You'll be fine. As the needle brgs failed I used a bronze bushing like the older 800 series to replace the needle brgs. Worked great. Then I updated to the water pumb brgs with the complete update kits, that was best setup. Then I traded it in on another 1063 that had plastic snouts, that was even better yet. I don't know what I'll do next as I don't like the 2206 head. Ted CenOH

I don't know but I think the 2206 is heavier than a 1083.

In my operators Manual on page 101 the weight of the 1063 is 3192 lbs......1083 is 4222 lbs....Jack

I have a 2206 and haven't been able to find anyone else with one . around here they're all 2208's. the issue is the gear box. mine gets so hot you could fry an egg on it, I drained it and switched to synthetic oil because it's so hot but am still afraid it will take out the seal. Does yours get this hot after running all dayIJ as I said around here they're all 2208's and they have 2 gearboxes and don't seem to get as hot. just trying to figure out the cause and what could happen over time.

Bob, I have had the head about a week, Have never felt the gearbox, Tommorrow is the last day of shelling for me. I will try to remember to check it.

I checked my gearbox. I had no problem putting my hand on it, no excessive heat. I would have the gear box checked.
