Combines 1063 cornhead cast aluminums

Same thing is happening to my 1063. I was thinking of getting some one that can weld aluminum to build them back up before they wear clear through....

I replaced all the aluminum blocks before harvest. The left aluminum block cracked the fall before and the left snout fell off and buckled back under the corn head. All other supports were in place. The only part that failed was that block. I wasn't even running the snouts on the ground. The latch pins were wearing through and the gathering chains had worn some were they run. Good luck Steve

I welded mine up and redrilled the holes for the latch pins. I did it my self but you probably could have them all done at a welding shop for the price of one new support.

Thanks everybody. I was leaning toward this direction. My local guy has started working with aluminum. I can take them off now and he'll have plenty of time to rebuild them for next year
