Where did they fit in timewise with the 1370's, etcIJ We sold lots of rearend and trans parts for 13 and 1570's, first to 90 specs, then to 94. Don't think there were many 1175's around. I know a couple neighbors got 1570's, and they always act like there on pins and needles around the things. 504 motor was a high point. chads

1175 was a basic tractor,8 speed tranny.no power shift, out board planetaries i believe and a 451 cube turbo engine.should run a long time and reasonable to fix.lots of power for that size of tractor. It would probably do exactly what you want to do with it.Just my thoughts.

gms, Dad bought our case 1175 new in 1978 and it has been an excellent tractor on our operation. Tach has 5900 hrs. Because it is just a straight 8 speed transmission, the 1175 did not have transmission problems like its sisters.(1270, 1370, and 1570) Other then oil, fillers, fuel, and injectors (injectors changed every 1200hrs, typical with the 451) the tractor has not cost very much to operate. We used it as a primary tillage tractor until 1997 when it was promoted to planting duties. We use it to pull a 6 row corn and 15 ft no-till grain drill, and there is no power shortage. If you do need more power they are easily turned up. My uncle has his 1175 putting out 150 hps since day one and it has never had any transmission or engine problems.

I bought a used 1976 1175 in 1981 with 1600 hours. It is the best tractor I ever owned. I wanted to avoid the power-shift. It has the outboard planetaries and they are bullet-proof. I had a bearing go out in the tranny once, but other than that and routine things(turbo, injectors, hyd pump, tires, etc) it's been very good. Here's the amazing part! I changed the engine bearings once, but the engine has 10,600 actual hours and the heads have never been off. Still uses very little oil. The turboed 451's had blowby when new, so don't worry about that. It pulls as good as it did 20 years ago. I always changed oil at 100 hrs. and used Cenex 518 15-40 oil. Most of the hours were doing primary tillage. It now seeds, pulls the grain cart and blows snow. It pulls like a Cummins. You will never be sorry if you buy a nice 1175. I could go on,..... but I better stop!
