Combines 12 Row Ready 2388

I'll try this one,--It is a cone shaped device mounted over the clean grain auger where the grain exits the body of the combine. It is on the inside where you can't easily see it. I guess it is suppose to kinda compress the grain down around the auger so as to be running full as the grain gets to the elevator boot. I would be guessing that it flares out 3 to 4" around the auger and out about 7 to 9" inward from the outside wall of the combine under the shoe sieve. Is this understandableIJ I don't where to find a picture, not in the Support Kits catalog.

Forever-Red, Thanks for your help. Now one more question. Is it a Case part or is it an after market partIJ If it is after market, do you know who sells itIJ Thanks!! K.A.

It is a CIH part. We ordered one for our 2002 "88" and when the dealer went to install it, there was one already in place leading me to think that possibly all "88s" coming into corn country have them factory installed. If yours is in that age group, you might want to check to see if you have one also. I don't know an easy way to take a peek. Good luck.

The part number of the cone is 197620A1. It was installed on all 2388's after serial number JJC0268800.

striker782, Thanks for the info. According to that both of my machines should already have it installed. K.A.

Case origianlly included the Clean Grain Cone in the 12-row combine package for the 2001 model year. Shortly after announcing the 12-row ready combine package, Case decided to make the Clean Grain Cone standard in all 2388s. Striker782 is correct on the part number and starting serial number.
