Combines 1200 ASM Planters

This will be our third year with ours. love it very much. There were some software issues after the first year but they were nothing major, just more user friendly now. We can plant at a higher speed and the spacing is great. MUCH better than our 950 or 900. No skips or doubles. Have central hoppers so we don't have to fill those stupid boxes. Also equiped it with liquid starter. Just my opinion but I think it is the best planter on the market bar none!!!

Have one season on a 24-30.....After learning how to run it its very nice.....always had deere before.....1200 is just as good if not better. Make sure you have enough oil.....those fans need it. Good luck

Forgot to mention the planter came from graceville (like the other post commented on)......There is a guy named gary furman that knows these planters like the back of his hand.....they showed us pictures of a customers 24-30 in nebraska they sold a couple years before ours..... CASE IH owes this guy and the dealer he works for (now titan) BIG! If all red dealerships had commitment like graceville does to 1200 planters many more would be sold.

Graceville builds planters in any configuration.....Ours is built with a freisen bar and a big john hydraulic controller...... I know there is a regular poster on this site that built his own 36-22", but he must be on vacation......The 1200 planter is the first red planter our neighbors will look at because of sugar beets.

Built a 36r 22" with 1200 units and a DB bar really like it. The leading edge on the disks makes it a better unit than any thing else we have seen. Works good from no til to conventional till. Have a 7300 Deere that we use also so thats what we compare it to.

How did you get the bulk seed tanks AND starter tanksIJIJ I didn't think you could do both. We would be very interested in the 1200 if you could ever mount liquid tanks as well as the bulk seed tanks on the same planter.

I built brackets and mounted my old saddle tanks above the hoppers. The way they sit they are only as long as the hopper and as wide as the space between the outside edge of the hopper and the lid. So when we open the door it swings up next to the tank. I bolted plates to the existing plates on the outside of the hoppers and used rectanglular tubing to come up off the square tube that the row units are on. I went up in front and in back of the hopper and then tied these brackets to the saddle. Plumbed the tanks down to a ground driven pump so thats where my coupler is to fill with starter. Split the tanks down to two manifolds 8 rows apiece. CIH engineers really didn't want me to do this but I really couldn't put my tanks on the tractor. They said I could but the one year warrenty on the welds and mainframe would be nulified. They also begged me not to transport the planter with liquid in the tanks - too top heavy and I agree.
