Combines 1420 vs 1620

Chadman, Give you a few things to think about. I would suggest that you look at a 1460 or a 1660 for harvesting. WhyIJ You will have a larger rotor in this size machine compared to a '20. Parts are more available for the '60 size. I would think you have 6 row planting equipment and with the 843 this would be a little small for a 1460, but if you do set up to this size you will complete more acres in a day and will save fuel, engine hours on machines and be able to have a night or two off. Remember it is hours not acres that wear out parts. Feel free to ask more questions. Jack.

i went from a 715 to a 1620. had a 1020 15' grain head and 843 corn head. these worked great on both combines. the 16 series will have a nicer cab, little more hp and better hydraulics. i really like my 1620. will never go back to a walker machine. parts should not be a problem. i agree in that you might want look to at the 40 or 60's. not much after market parts for the smaller rotor. good luck!
