Combines 1440 final drive oil seal

It has been my experience that when an oil seal on a final drive leaks the problem is not with the seal. most likely you have a bearing going bad. i would take it to your dealer and have them do the work. if you in fact have a bad bearing you can be sure the other side isn't far behind in needing repair. i hope yours is just a bad seal, but that usually isn't the case.

I got the final drive off today and it was in fact the bearing that had gone bad, so the drive is at the dealer being fixed. Thanks for the input, wish it was just the seal but I still would have been short some of the tools to fix it.
