2 possibilities come to mind.I assume material is not getting caught on that cracked plate. Check the fingers on the cross auger to make sure they are retracting completely when they come around in front of the feeder chain. Then check to see that your front feeder drum is all the way down.If it is equipped with the stone retarder drum, the drum needs to be all the way down for small grains, and up for corn.Adjustments on the sides of the feeder house.Unless no corn is grown in your area, it sounds like it was left that way after corn harvest last fall.Hope this helps. PS,another thought;you say"plugging",is your slip clutch on the feeder chain tight enoughIJ

I assume you are done or nearly done with your wheat by now,and I hope you have found a solution to your problem. Here's another possibility, that might help you or someone else in the future. Is the feeder chain in backwardsIJI know it's a long shot, but it does happen, and you know as well as I that a part installed backwards can go on as slick as the right way sometimes and you have no clue what you did wrong until later.Hope that's not the case, but since the combine is new to you, anything could be possible this year.Good luck.P.S.This didn't happen to me,but could easily be done.

Yes!! I had a 914 IH that was terrible about slugging at the feeder. Very bad at the start of season or in damp straw. I fought this problem for years. I bought a 1482 to replace the 914 and sold the 914 to my cousin, but still had it in my shed. About that time I got a copy of Ray Stuckle's combine book. He claimed most IH feeding problems were from the feeder chain being installed backwards at the factory. I wondered, could it beIJ Checked and yes the chain was installed backwards on both combines. I reversed both feeder chains and neither combine had any more feeding problems. The tall leg of the chain slat must hit the crop material first.
