Mark, 1460 finals are pretty reliable, it is the 1440 that is considerably lighter.If your oil level is up where it is supposed to be and you have no leakage around the shaft seals I think you can be fairly comfortable. If you jack it up and check for up and down or side to side axle play there should be none.May also want to remove the bolt and slide the coupler back on the input shaft of the final and check the spline wear. You probably will get a small amount of play but if you can see by looking at the splines that they are half gone , better replace as the wear increases quickly from the added play.
