would you believe I have a 1460 with just over 6500 hours that was purchased by my father back in 1980. Still use it on beans and corn. JWK How did we get this far, check fluids always, if something started to look worn out it got replaced. I was not afraid to spend $1000 a yr.

Went from a 715 to a 1460 myself and think you will be pleased with what the AF will do for you.As the other posts have said you can get a 1460 to run a lot of hours if you keep them up.You will want to check all the chains for wear and make sure to keep them adjusted properly as that will save alot of extra wear.Take the front covers off and make sure there are no holes in the cone and that the elephant ears are not worn down.drop the concaves to check for wear in that area and while down put the rotor transmission in neutral and spin the rotor several times to make sure it doesn't always stop with the same side down which would indicate out of balance . Usually out of balance is caused by dirt building up in the inside because of a puncture somewhere( steel auger fingers that break off are good for that) Also might be a good idea to check all the bushings on the hangers that run and support the seives because when they start to go it makes a big mess quickly so is much better and simpler to replace sooner rather than later..generally a much easier and simpler machine to take care of than your 403... How long will they runIJ A neighbor has one over 13000 hrs. Yes three zeros...he takes excellant care of it and it does very good work..says he can't afford to trade up until yearly maintenace costs more than the int. good luck with yours
