This should cure your problem. It did wonders for our 1680. Now we really don't worry about over-threshing the crop because the fan can keep the MOG suspended over the whole length of the sieve. You sould be in even better shape with the shorter shoe. I'll send you a picture of the sample in some nasty, light wheat that we cut about 3" off the ground.

It is easy to install, just pull the upper and lower sieve, then crawl in there and bolt it in. In some cases you might have to drill a couple holes, but no big deal. We bought it specifically for wheat. We like to have an exceptionally clean sample because we store the grain all winter. Trash just helps get the bugs started. For years we were limited by the volume of the return. If we opened up the lower sieve, we got lots of chaff. If we closed it down, we plugged the return auger. By keeping the chaff suspended, we can do a better job and travel faster. I would say this is the best modification you can do for a wheat machine. Mike

No other company that I know of. Phil was able to get it patented, so I doubt that it can be duplicated legally until the patent runs out.

Check out M Gordon's new AirJet Chaffer at the left. He claims it is the answer to getting a clean sample and good capacity.
