Take it to a machinist and they can reface your pully halfs and put in a new spline we had that done to a 1480 15 years ago worked great. instead of using the puller to change the belt i used to pry the pully apart with a bar and jam a 2x4 in to keep it spread leaving room to put the belt on. just be carefull.if you have time get as many parts made as you can it is cheaper than case. any good machinist can make almost any part for a fraction of the price

Well I pulled it a part and the pulley splines were shot! The shaft splines are worn pretty bad too. I found I could get the shaft and splined pulley sheave from AandI ag products. It was like 45% less than dealer price. Must be a common wear item on these old combines. I phoned my local drive line supplier and couldn't find any 14 spline 1 1_2" hub to press in the pulley. They said the common 14 spline like I wanted is normally 1 1_4". He said he had no listing for what I wanted.

If you could locate a 16 series pulley from a wrecker it has a bolt on centre section which has a longer spline area - much stronger.
