I reciently had problems with my monitor, fixed now. It was a sensor. To check operation, engage seperator and run at 2550 rpms, turn the two fan and rotor knobs clockwise to stops then slowly ccw until the alarm sounds then back cw to stop the alarm plus a little more. You can check the other alarms by slowing the engine until an alarm sounds (usually between 2300-1900 rpms) then disable that alarm with the switch on the back of the monitor and repete to test other alarms. I had a JD 7700 w_o a monitor for years and really like having one on the IHC now.
