Combines 1480 tailings choking up

The fan deflector works very well in wheat, milo, and beans. I bet it would work for you in rice also. I've heard that the air jet chaffer works also.

I suspect you have a threshing problems and maybe problems with your fan_chaffer_seive adjustments. Rather than trying to figure out long distance and knowing nothing about rice, I suggest you get a good tech from your CIH dealer or a neighbor with a lot of CIH rotary combines in rice experience to come over and help you get this beast straightened out. Rotary machines are different and there are several things that can cause your problems.

You need more air and_or a more closed chaffer setting. Blow more of the MOG out the back of the machine. You've got too much material getting through the chaffer. If that doesn't work, you might try to be a little less aggressive in your rotor settings. Slow it down and_or open it up. If your crop is excessively dry, you could be over threshing and putting too much load on the shoe. I'm assuming that the parts that compose the tailings system are up to snuff. If you have a worn out auger, clapped out clutch, or missing paddles, your problem could be there.

I ran the 1480 today at a slower speed(2 mph). That seems to be the remedy. The rice is cutting close to 170 bu. per a. I may have to speed up the elevators, by using larger drive sprockets on the jack shaft. Thats for the feed back it got be thinking.
