The 1482 will harvest anything a 1480 would and more if your tractor has the HP. They are a trouble free machine,and quite possibly the most combine per $ out there. They work great in the crops you talk about. Good accessories to fine tune it for all crops is an airfoil chaffer(fixed Harvest) and concave cover plates. I run mine with aftermarket large wire concaves(Harvest) in all crops and fine tune for the small seeded crops(wheat to flax) with cover plates. The loewen concave shock kit is a good acessory if you have to deal with green weedy crops. The only problem I had with the machine was with the rear pto lineshaft joint rusting on the gearbox splines,as the early machines had no provision for lubricating these splines. I fitted grease zerks in the 2 pin holes in the rear joint which lets me grease the splines. It helps to cut a small hole in the shield so it is easier to grease these zerks. later machines come factory equipped with these changes. If You don't keep the splines free,you will constantly tear up the lineshaft hanger bearings. A very gentle threshing,high capacity machine that is easy to service and adjust.
