1. Do you have poly shoes under the headIJ If you do, check to see if one is bent or cracked. If not you should add one to the affected area. 2. Case spreaders until the 2100 series sucked. The straw is probably too heavy to be thrown into the beater. You could get a shaft extension for the beater, get a axle mounted chaff spreader, or just make a pan for the straw to slide down over the axle. 3. Beats me. Check to see if your hydraulic filter is plugged. If by hydraulics you mean the header shuts off, then you have a bad ground or your header switch is worn out. Also make sure your reservoir is full. 4. Good luck and be safe.

i have a 1620 also with 1020 head. if you are pushing dirt check your spring tension on the lh side and underneath the head. in the book it talks about ground pressure. mine also builds up on the axle. made up a quick rubber curtain that has helped alot. will need to make it bigger for next year. can't help you on the hydraulic problem. i like mine much better than the old 715. good luck! We just bought a 1660 this year also. So I'm no expert, but we have had your problems too. One thing check your tilt on the feeder house, ours was tipped back too far along with down pressure. The first field we cut was next to the blacktop and we had clumps of trash fall off wheels also draped old conveyor belt arround the rods on back. Material still builds on axels but seems to fall off evenly no clumps. That field looks terrible.

Trash buildup on axles I had the same problem on my 1680. I used 24" wide conveyer belting to make a "hood" aroundthe spreaders and under the shaker extension. Email me and I can send them. Very little problem with that now. Now we could just get rid of this rain for a while

Would like more detail on the hydraulic problem, but a good place to start is the oil cooler. Blow a barnfull of compressed air thru it from both ways. Overheated oil can cause a parade of problems.
