Wouldn't say it is impossible to change a 40 axle to a 60 style , but would be a complete change over to make components match.Everything from the finals, drive shafts, collers ,transmission,hydro motor and supporting super structure is different and would need to be replaced or modified to bolt together.Much of the 14 series will fit but some such as the axles have been upgraded for the 16 series, but will interchange.Maybe worth your time to look at each as the differences are easy to see to compare.
