Combines 1640 or 1660

I have just purchased a 1992 1640 and they say it has a lot more power then the 1440. The unloading auger is higher and longer for sure. Mine came with a six row head and a 20 foot bean platform. They claimed they never had any problems. This area we are in can raise 170 Bu corn and 55 Bu beans. I paid $57,000 for the machine with 1400 hours and the matching heads to go with it and a head trailer. Needs some miner work but in good shape. 5.9 cummings motor.

We have a 1640 with a standard rotor. I would recommend going with a 1660. We only run a 15ft head on ours, and in the fields of green stem beans it really has its hands full. I sure wouldn't want to put anything bigger on the front of it. We only run a 4RW cornhead and get along fine, I would think it would handle a 6row decent. Sometimes in hills in 200+ corn it bogs down, but not often.

My Uncle paid $54,000 for a 95 2188 with 900 seperator hours, farmer owned at an auction.

We have a 1992 1640 and run a 17.5 foot flex bar. They seem to be a very good match. In green stem beans you do have to slow up a little, but our neighbors have a 2188 and 25 foot bar and we were keeping up about the same ground speed. We have cut 73 bu. beans 4mph when stems were dry. We run a 6x36 cornhead and the only limitation is the bin capacity. We are considering selling this machine and upgrading to a 2344. If you are interested send us an e-mail. Thanks
