Combines 1660 Rotor Setup

Have you tried using Gordon bars to get more of the shelling and separating done in the concave area and to lighten the load on the gratesIJ Mr. Gordon is just a click away on "Attachments" on the left.

Try speeding up your rotor, it worked for me on my 1640 in heavy corn.

Are you running 6 straight bars in the grate areaIJ

The only shure way to stop roter loss in corn that i have tryed is to retard the rear vanes.

Vanes are set in the middle position. I am running 6 straight seperator bars. Speeding up the rotor only seemed to compound the problem. I am running with all the wires in the concave as I have had very mixed results with having every other wire removed. My thought was that threshed grain was carrying to the rear of the rotor in the shucksIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJIJThus the rice spikes and disruptersIJIJIJ

I have the Estes disrupters and the rice bars over the grate area. They work great for flipping the husks and saving the corn. I harvested 198 bu irrigated in SD on a 1460 with a 6-30 head at 4 mph. This year I will remove the lower sieve for corn and try that. Has anyone else had experience with thisIJ

Thanks for your comments Two Pack! How long have you been running that set-up and are your vanes in the middle positionIJ I am presuming that you are running 27 spike bars on your rotor as per the Estes directions.We run with our sieve(lower) adjusted wide open in corn. Thanks Again!
