Combines 1660 VS 860

if you guy's are running 30's on a 1660 then the v8 860 should handle 40ft. you are abovisly not doing 100bu. wheat. the 1660 is more comparable to a 750 not a 860. don,t mean to be critical but ran an 1660 and a 860 side by side for many years doing custom cutting in sw.ontario.860 would outdo 1660 by 30%_day with less dock at elevator and less fuel consumption

Smoke'n, Huh thats interesting information I guess. No there's no such thing as 100 bu wheat unless you have a irrigation pivot under it in my country. I run a 92 1660 w_ 25' header a few years back all fall. It would out do our 750 without a doubt. (24' head) So I assumed it was somewhere in between. I've heard a 1660 will smoke a 9500 in good conditions as well so guess I'll have to find out. We have 30-45 bu wheat in my country not 100 so mabeye in normal crops the difference isn't as noticable who knows.

an 860 V8 Hydro with 30' that is in good mechanical condition will stomp all over a 1660 in comparable mechanical condition with 30' hands down. In 40-50 bu wheat the 860 will even give a 1680 a run for its money. In higher yield crops, such as corn, the 860 will struggle, because it has less clean grain elevator capacity.
