Combines 1680 hopper floor

I installed a set of the stainless in my 2388 this spring and I sure would reccomend that over the plastic even for the price difference. They fit like a glove and were easy to install. You can get the stainless kit through your local CaseIh dealer as it is available as a kit.

Not sure where you are located but if you are near Colby KS landM machine makes an insert that drops right in and I just tack welded it in. They will make out of standard metal (approx. $50 each) or out of ss. I don't know cost of ss.

I would recommend the CIH stainless also. They fit like a glove. The bottom of the floor was a bit deformed, where it was getting thin, and the inserts seemed to pull it back in shape really well! I bought the floor augers from loewen and was very pleased. The outside half inch of the flighting was double thickness. The augers were made in Canada. Some loewen parts are now made in China, so I would check before I ordered them! I did this a year ago and it worked great for the 07 harvest. Craig

I believe if you check with loewen, you will find most of the parts they make that come from china are items like sprockets, not any metal fabricating kind of parts. I know China supplies them with steel sprockets which are of better quality, instead of the cast ones they had before made in Canada.

Thanks for setting me straight, Ken. I have always been pleased with loewen's quality and price, but when I rebuilt my 1063 and the upper sprockets had China stamped on them I was very disappointed. My pet peeve! I'd rather pay a little more than have China stamped on everything. Craig

yes, I know what you mean. I guess our life styles here in North America have put us into a position that allows the Chinese low salary rates to flood our markets with next to everything, and what they haven't so far, will be here shortly, ie Cars, trucks....
