West illini; Many electric gauges can be checked by disconnecting the wire from sender and lightly visegripping it to a good ground, turn on the key and if the gauge pegs on the high end, the wire is good to the gauge and so is the gauge. IH mech told me one time, you can have a 5 gallon pail of those senders and they will all read different for whatever that's worth.

Actually it jumps from none to normal. Especially after it gets warmed up it says no pressure when wide open. I will try the grounding trick

my 1620 does the same thing. changed the sender and it was fine. now it reads no pressure. shows pressure at low idle. i check the oil all the time. i guess as long as the light_buzzer doesn't go off i'm ok. makes me nervous though. hope you find something out. i would like to know. good luck! We had a very similar experience with a 1086 which has same type of gauges. What solved the problem was applying anti ox electrical grease at all connection locations including any disconnect plugs in the loom..good luck

We had a 1486 that did that while it was still under waranty. The dealer tried alot of differant things all with no succes. They finally were told be someone at the factory that a little air was getting in the sender thruogh the oil at startup and causing the problem. They added a T to put the sender in and a 4" piece of pipe straight up to collect the air and it never faultered again in the 7000 hrs. that we had it. For a while we also had a mechanical guage hooked there as we didn't trust the motor or the cure that they gave us. It alwauys read the same though. Jake

Try following the wire from sender up by the fuel filters. The wire cluster right there can have a loose connection that effects oil pressure. Have seen it on a couple of machines. Good luck.
