Al, run into this problem before, usually pto will not work at all, was everything else working in the cabIJ(blower fan, radio, etc. could be cab relay problem) To replace clutches is not a real big job, take seperator drive pulley and housing off, clutch assembly is like a IH tractor PTO. How's harvest been goingIJ

Everything in the cab was working. when you are running the rotor just stops for a few seconds then starts back then will finally stop.of course when the rotor slows any at all you get alarms. When i first new somthing was wrong the seperator wound not engage i could flip the switch and get the buzzer but my rotor wound not engage. so i replaced the sealoid switch on top of the pto that engaged it. but that didn't fix the problem of the rotor shuting down. Corn harvest has been going good. the combine up until today has done more than i've expected. I'm cutting around 60 acres a day and loading about 7 trucks. in two days of cutting i cut 14,000 bus. I'll fill you in later as the days go on. al

Alex, have your dealer check the accumulator on the top of the pto also so the new clutches will engage quickly, should not be a long lag from turning on and seperator starting.

Al, The clutches do not usually go out with normal use. Have you been turning on the seperator without idling down the engineIJ K.A.

My rotor quit working one night last year. I had reall bad burnt smell at the back around the pto. At first I thought it was the pto clutch. The next morning I checked it over and found the solinod on top of the pto housing was not working. I bought the coil pack for the solinod (pricey) and away it went. IF your oil smells sounds like you may have something else wrong.

thanks, We changed the clutches and while we had it out we saw that the bearing on the inside was bad so we replaced it also. This made a world of diffence. Whenever i started back i had to slow my rotor speed down almost 100 rpms and i gained engine hp.I'm running really well right now. I have noticed some corn in the bottom of my fan housing is this normal or do i need to get this outIJIJ alex

Hi Al, I replaced that clutch once, I remember. I accidently filled it with gear oil, because at the time I didn't know about these clutches. I think it is not too hard to do. It just takes time and two people because it is so heavy.
