Combines 1680 Steering

I think you have air in your lines. They say any time you do any work on the hydraulic system you should bleed the system to get the air out. I don't remember what the procedure is on a 1680 but on my 2388 you have to run the engine at about 1800 rpm and move the hydro lever all the way forward to all the way backward slowly three times. Check your owners manual.

I agree on the airbleed thing. What would it be tho, if the rear were jacked up to just take the load off, then cycle the steering wheel one way and the other if the first thing wasn't satisfactoryIJ

I have a hard time beleiving myself that moving the hydro lever back and forth will get the air out of the steering lines. I was thinking if he would crack open just a little the line that he replaced and then turn the steering wheel back and forth to let the air escape out the line that is cracked open.
