Combines 1688 beater noise

Ours is noisy also, but never seems to give any problems. I can hear it when the seperator is engaged at most engine speeds if I get out and listen for it. I think it might come from the sloppy fit on the hex shaft, but really haven't been able to figure it out.

I have a 1660 with the same complaint. 1800 hours on it and so far no problem with the beater. It just sounds pretty rattley at low rpm especially.

Check the metal parts that keep the drive belt (not the Roter Belt) on the pulleys in the engine compartment. Have someone look in when you shut off the machine. You may have stepped on it and bent it a little when you checked the oil in the gear box on the roter. Sometimes noise can sound like its coming from the beater, but its in the engine compartment.
