we had a 1688, very good machine we had no problem with we traded for a 2388 and really the only differece is the nicer cab on the 23 and a few added convenieces. but the 1688 will stay right with it
I bought one last year and like it. I wish it had drop down spreader, cab in true center, and hinged rear access panels like 21 or 2388. All things I can live without. Just make sure you price around, it seems many times a 1688 is priced about the same as 2188. Good luck CW
I believe you are making a good choice! With the many combines I have repaired,my choice would be a 1994 model.I am told that this machine was one of best axial flows ever built.It does not have quite as nice a cab as the 2100s.Also alot less electronics.I hope this helps.
I don't know what you are currently running. I went from a l2 Gleaner with the big engine to the 1688. I couldn't believe the capacity and hp this machine has.
