Did one of these this fall. All your assumptions are correct. Remove the adjustable arm from the hex shaft and the plate that supports it and adjusts auger position. Slide auger as far to left as possible, and roll the right end forward on a 4x4 post. Once clear of the right end of the header (removing the divider is helpful),the auger can be pulled out of the left end. I used a forklift to do so and it worked great, Did most of the work without any assistance. The only snag I had was the arm was seized on the shaft, had to cut it apart to get it off. Do yourself a favour and change both end bearings. The inside bearings can be changed at any time. No problem - Good luck!
