JD 9750. Now, someone please answer my questions! Of course, I am not demanding. Just begging!

I bought one similar to what you are looking at. The first crop I run it in was milo. Main problem I had was belts slipping and breaking. It drove me nuts. I finally replaced nearly every belt on the machine and replaced any bearing that felt the slightest bit rough. Ran great. I followed all the hyper mods on this site. It really harvest sweet. I harvested nearly 2000 acres with it this year and only had to replace a few belts.

Panhandler, I understand you can mix the two oils. I would first drain the tank though. I would also like to flush the system, but wouldnt be fond of opening it up. I think I would drain the oil run it for awhile and then drain it and refill. Change the filter too. Or it might even be better to call Agco and ask them, its probably what I would do.

Use the ATF fluid and I would change any bearing that needs changed or is taken off to work on something.

Why would you want to switch oilsIJ I have heard of guys switching without trouble in older machines. The company did do some changing in hydralic valve when they made the switch. I'd play it safe and stay with ATF. I believe you are asking about pivot point bushings. I don't believe there are bushings and havn't replaced any blocks. Might want to open up grease zirk passages if they are blocked. The P1s allready have the rock door hump built into them. The P3s should have the hump added in my opinion. We allways had machines hyperized before removing sweep. Helicals are most important part to hyperizing that machine and will prevent the excess straw from grinding up in cage and tring to get down to the shoe. Hyperizing the helical setup will put alot of the machine at ease. Gas shocks don't fail very often so you can likely find good used. Good luck

G'Day Panhandler I was only a young bloke when R.O.M. and my Uncle ran our 83 N7! But I did get to run it in the last years we owned it and one thing I would Highly recommend and wished we had done it is install the Channel helicals! put the steep pitched in over the Thresher grate and standard Channel helicals over the the Sep section! Grease the rotor vary speed with it in and out and run it in and out a few time so as to lube up the cams inside it. AS to your ATF I would do what one of the blokes said down the list, drain it all out and replace with ATF for at least this season and new filters All round (Most filters can be got from Fleet Guard!! Cheep!!) All of this might be a bit pricey but the whole machine will work a lot better and be a bit more reliable. I think you could take out every second rod in the concave as well (Check with NDDan or Hyper II on that one!!) this will help in seperation and you just need to install filler bar strips to help with extra threshing if needed.
