Nate, In regards to the difference between the versions of R-72's. Custom Harvestor Specials come with the most "extras" as standard equipment amoung all versions. There are 3 versions (7271, 7272, 7273) of grain machines and 3 versions (7274, 7276, 7277) of corn_soy machines, and then there are the Custom Harvestor Specials (7279). A couple of the extras on the Custom Harvest Specials that other corn_soy versions do not include are 3.5" lift cylinders (for 12 row corn head) and tailings return to the cylinder. Other little things include weather band radio, acre estimator etc... The 7277 version is equiped adequately for most corn_soy operators. 7279 versions may also include chrome loading and unloading augers in grain tank, not sure. We ran a R-72 for the first time last season on our farm. One thing that became plainly evident to us after running it is that, for every hour on the tach there has been a ot of bushells_acres run through these babies. Its just something to keep in the back of your mind; a hour on an R-72 is not the same as an hour on anything thing else. I would look at clean grain and tailings return chains and their sprokets. It should be getting time to replace them, especially if they haven't been properly maintained (tightened). Same goes for feeder chains. The bin loading auger was completely shot on ours with a lot less hours. look at clyinder bars, see if they can be flipped. Check concave, probably time to replace that too. Just a few ideas. Good luck,
