A Bushel is actaully a unit of VOlUME , i believe its 1.25cuft per bushel. sebas,farmers grow a lot of malting barley around here(that's when it rains well).Our growing season is a lot longer here in Australia so we plant at a lighter rate 35 to 45 poundsper acre to make the plant stool out more.I lived and worked in Sask. Canada for a while and where i worked they seeded at 102 lbs per acre and when harvested the seed was a lot smaller.john
