It depends on how the grain is weighing. In australia we work on 36 bushels to the ton for wheat and 39 for barley as an average.john

A Bushel is actaully a unit of VOlUME , i believe its 1.25cuft per bushel. Im not sure what the standard moisture is outside of north america but i would ASSUME is the same as here. 1 bu Corn = 56lbs @ 15.5% moisture 1 bu soys = 60lbs @ 13% moisture 1 tonne (mt) =2205 lbs 1 mt Corn = 2205_56 =39.375bu_mt 1 mt soys =2205_60 =36.75 bu_mt

sebas, farmers grow a lot of malting barley around here(that's when it rains well). Our growing season is a lot longer here in Australia so we plant at a lighter rate 35 to 45 poundsper acre to make the plant stool out more.I lived and worked in Sask. Canada for a while and where i worked they seeded at 102 lbs per acre and when harvested the seed was a lot smaller.john
